Hi! I'm Dani - I'm a mom of 3 teenage boys, a wife to Dan and an inclusive community builder. A born organizer with a passion for food and entertaining, I love life and everything it has to offer. As a corporate events consultant, I have been fortunate to plan an amazing array of events around the world and I am extremely proud of what I have achieved, the places I have been and the people I have met along the way.
In 2017, after being a little dismayed by what was on offer on kids menus in restaurants, I began to run culinary summer camps for kids and teens with the aim of building friendships across age and genders, encouraging an expanded food palate, building independence and encouraging creativity along with the most important - building practical skills for these kids future.
Drawing on my marketing and events experience, my love of community along with my Cordon Bleu training, it became an instant hit and The Big Tasty Club was born! Demand for participation quickly took hold and I added after-school and weekend classes, private and scheduled camps, birthday parties, girl scout cooking badges and adult events too. It became a culinary school but the emphasis was always about the EVENT!
During Covid I switched to a fully virtual model immediately offering daily family "community building" cooking sessions and soon after started taking virtual birthday party bookings and Corporate Team Building bookings for global team events complete with baking and making skincare from scratch!!
My business has grown through word of mouth and I have enjoyed running a wide variety of charity and bake/donate events for our community. My kitchen and work environment is always a safe, creative, non judgemental place to be for all. No excuses! It is often experimental and messy when we work but we make no excuses for that!
Receiving feedback from clients is just the best! I have inspired kids to cook, inspired kids to enter baking competitions, inspired adults to cook, bake and decorate all manner of amazing creations, to participate in zoom baking sessions with colleagues friends or family all over the world, to donate baked goods to the homeless and needy and to cook for our hospital workers. I have inspired kids through peer activities to try foods they would not previously try and this is always mind blowing to witness. Our adult and corporate events have been talking points for months afterwards!
I am very proud to say, a number of parents tell me that The Big Tasty Club is the ONLY summer camp their kids will attend!!!
In 2020, I started a lean-in group for women who run their own businesses. It has been an absolute joy and pleasure to facilitate the connection of this talented group of amazing women on a weekly basis where we provide support, networking, brainstorming, community and a lot of giggles!
I am now thrilled to be able to organize corporate events as well as events for kids too. Whilst I am still taking private bookings for cooking, baking and food related events, I am now back in the corporate event space available on a freelance basis.
